Beagle Ridge Herb Farm is a haven for gardeners and nature enthusiasts alike. This 210-acre retreat hidden in a secluded valley south of Wytheville, is known for its Lavender, formal gardens and butterflies. It is also home to Flying Flowers, Southwest Virginia’s only walk-through Butterfly house.
Named as one of the top 14 Butterfly destinations in the country by Birds n Blooms magazine, Flying Flowers is home to 7 species of native butterflies. The life cycle of the butterfly is on display and caterpillars and butterflies surround you in the structure. Butterflies fly from Mid-May through Mid Sept when the Monarch Migration occurs.
Beagle Ridge is also known for the Environmental Education Center which has provided a diverse offering of classes and workshop for the past 20 years. Students from 31 states have traveled to attend classes which are held almost every weekend from March through December.
Come enjoy the gardens, hike the trails, cut your own bundle of Lavender- in season, treat yourself to herbal goodies in the outdoor café, purchase their handmade products in the gift shop and walk among the butterflies.
Open May through October, Thursday -Sunday.
Group tours are welcome by appointment year round
