The Crooked Road’s Mountains of Music Homecoming presents John Doyle Trio with Rose Conway Flanagan, Laura Byrne & Pat Egan at Harvester Performing Center on June 14.
Grammy Award-nominated Irish musician and songwriter John Doyle is one of the leading performers of Irish music. The John Doyle Trio will play a range of Celtic ballads, songs, and tunes, and band member David Curley will likely take a turn or two as a step dancer.
Acclaimed fiddler Rose Conway Flanagan originally began taking lessons in Irish music with Martin Mulvihill. A founding member of the popular Celtic band Cherish the Ladies, Flanagan was recently inducted into the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Mid-Atlantic Region Hall of Fame.
A mainstay in Maryland’s vibrant Irish music scene and highly regarded on both sides of the Atlantic for her mastery of the Irish traditional flute and whistle, Laura Byrne is a two-time recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council grant in solo performance.
Singer and guitarist Pat Egan began his professional career when he moved to Westport, in Ireland’s County Mayo in the 1980s. Egan developed an interest in old time music while living in St. Louis, recording with old time banjo player Dave Landreth.
